Description

Crude Dug Confederate Stirrups - Civil War 1861-1865. These were dug in South Carolina and typify the type of cavalry equipment the south had to come up with at the outset of the war. The local blacksmith was forced into service to manufacture most of the needs of the young Confederacy. They did that furnishing a host of items for the new cavalry outfits.
