Can this last in high wind speeds
?
The rings are adjustable with screws that allow you to set the rings on the pole the way you want. The rings themselves are a ring with a movable ring inside the other ring. This is a very nice flag pole, I especially like the polished brass look. However this is not tangle free as might be suggested. Because the rings are plastic they occasionally rub against one another causing the flag to get tangled. A minor irritation but still a nice flag pole.
Depends on how high and how direct. I did take my flag down overnight recently when winds were forecast to gust to 40-45 mph overnight. When I took the flag down, it was already very windy and the bracket was doing fine. I think it may have been fine overnight, but I decided not to risk it. The wind direction was probably not quite direct onto the flag due to minor sheltering from the house. In summary, the bracket seems very strong. For me there was also an additional factor of what the flag was whipping into like the asphalt shingles and a light fixture.
